THIRD QUARTERLY UPDATE

LEADERSHIP TRAINING CENTRE

Connecting the Resident’s Homeland to LTC!

Seven residents from LTC visited the home of one of the residents; Nob Sorath; which is located in Kampong Speu Province. The residents shared their knowledge and experiences about living in the city and dormitory to his family and also learned about living condition in the province.

LTC Welcomes New Scholarship Residents!

Since July 2011 there are four students have moved in ACE Leadership Training Centre. They are: Han Phary; a university student majoring in Psychology/Economic from Siem Reap province, Sao Sreyleak preparing for her exam to go to Nursing school; from Kep province, Hout Pisith a Computer Science student from Battambong province, Hing Brembrey; a Laboratory student from Battambong province.

Hand In Hand With the Rotaract Club of Phnom Penh Metro!

LTC residents cooperated with the members of Rotaract Club of Phnom Penh Metro to provide toothpaste, toothbrush, porridge and clothes to more than 50 kids at Wat Than slum. The kids were also taught how to take care of their teeth, washing hand and played games. There were 30 people joining the event including Rotar¬act and Rotary mem-bers, LTC residents and friends.

LTC Residents and the TEDx Phnom Penh!

Two residents; Synoeun and Sreyphea volun-teered to organise TEDx Phnom Penh which is an international program that bring people together to spread their ideas and dreams to the world; Sotheara was invited to hold a workshop to spread his ideas on “how to contribute back to your community”. Congratulate to our residents!

WEEKEND TRAINING PROGRAM

In just three months, ACE has been organizing and conducting various training for approximately 400 participants from various local; international NGOs and private organiz¬ations. ACE raised approximately $2500 from our Weekend Training Program!,The training that was conducted at our LTC include:Administrative,Effective Professional Communication, Marketing, Labour Law, Cambodian Taxation, Teaching Methodology. Fundraising and Proposal Writing.

ACE was also invited to conduct training in also in Sihanoukville for five different NGOs.The Weekend Training Program provides LTC residents with the opportunity to resources in Cambodia! participate in the various training sessions as well . They are becoming the valuable resources in Cambodia!

RUDI BOA CENTRE

Resident Employment with The Rotary Club of Phnom Penh Metro!


Nine different sessions on hygiene and sanitation were taught to the classes such as: environmental pollution, keeping hands and nails clean, oral hygiene, electrical injury and lightning injury prevention. The kids are very enthusiastic about keeping their environment clean!

Building Youths Capacity Is Essential!


In August, 15 youths from RBC attended training at LTC on: CV Writing, Inter-viewing and Budgeting, which was conducted by volunteers from Golden Future. Thanks to Tania Jumnoodoo and your teams for organizing this training!

Volunteer Makes a Huge Difference!


We thank Bridges Across Borders Cambodia for introducing Josh and Katie from United World College of South East Asia to our Centre. Josh and Katie assisted with the English class, health and hygiene, sport and other programs. You brought so much fun, knowledge and experience to our children and youths. Thank you!

ACE Welcomes 3 New Project Managers!


LTC residents Synoeun, Mien and Chakrya have been promoted as the project managers of Rudi Boa Centre; Sing-Cam Centre and Training Program respectively! These residents are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to assist them in their new position. Congratulations Synoeun, Mien and Chakrya!

Experiencing the Jombok Haos Camp!


In October over 15 students, team leaders, staff members at RBC and LTC residents went for an adventure learning program for 5 days in Preah Vihear province, organized by ADRA Cambodia! The participants got to experience all the activities in the forest including giant swing, high wire walking and repelling. The program focuses on identifying and nurturing leadership, team building skills, self confidence. Thanks to Empowering Youth in Cambodia (EYC) for sponsoring this magnificent program!

SING-CAM PORRIDGE FOR HOPE PROGRAM

We continue to provide a bowl of porridge regularly, twice per month to more than 250 kids at Rudi Boa Centre and Wat Than slum community. The purpose of the program is to provide breakfast for kids 5 to 16 years old who cannot afford it, to have hope for better conditions in the future when they have good careers. Also, the program aims to promote a good relationship between the community and the centre and warm-hearted attention toward the kids, as well as a good relation¬ship between teachers, staff members and students.

SING-CAM CENTRE- WAT THAN SLUM COMMUNITY

Inauguration Ceremony!

Sing-Cam Centre was established on October 1, at Wat Than Slum Community, Phnom Penh, where there are more than 60 families and 100 kids are residing for more than a decade. The centre provides free non- educational programs including English, Health and Hygiene, Sport, Art, Dental Check-up, Leadership Training, Khmer Traditional Dancing to kids and teenagers from 5 to 18 years old who are living in miserable conditions without proper nutrition, lack of health and hygiene, illiteracy and little hope. The class last from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm, Monday to Sunday.

There are more than 60 kids and youths are attending the centre regularly. We are expecting more than 100 kids and youths to study at the centre!
