A New Life of an orphan boy
On the inauguration Ceremony day, we found Veth, a 12 years old boy who had been living with a foster family next to the Saing Sy School after his mum was murdered by his step father 6 years ago. Unfortunately Veth had been treated like a slave in his foster family. He was extremely over-worked. He had to get up 5am every morning to do all housework including: fetching water from the well to home, washing, cooking and all other jobs. He has been suffering from malnutrition due to the insufficient of foods intake. Hence his body is covered with skin and bone and his left hand was seriously infected and full of pus. He was almost lost his hand. Fortunately he was taken by CKF staffs to the city to have his hand operated. The operation cost us approximately $US100, excluding foods, transportation and accommodation.
Veth is currently staying in ACE since he was discharged from the hospital. He refuses to go back to his foster family. We are considering of having him registered to one of the private schools in Phnom Penh.
This boy is now safe and has fully recovered. With the support of CKF, he is going to become ONE of the successful leaders in Cambodia.
